It’s a cold winters day and I’ve just been out walking the dog. Back home now though, to sit in front of the fire with a cuppa and my crochet.
I haven’t touched Ellie for a week or so, because I’ve been “cracking on” with Monet. So as a wee treat I’ve done a bright yellow square (stark contrast to Monet) and a multi-coloured LILY square.
If you crochet and haven’t donated a square or two to charity, I recommend you do. You get all the good fun of making the square and lots of happy good feelings knowing that someone who has so little will benefit. I send mine to Diane who creates the charity LILY in memory of her grand-daughter and to help Syrian refugees. I don’t send as many as I’d like but every square helps and so I try to do my wee bit to help when I can.
I’ve really been trying to progress my Monet blanket. I now have enough squares to cover my (extended) dining table so I’m maybe 1/4 way through (if you don’t count the border). I love the watery leafy colours with the odd pink or purple. And I love the wool I’m using (Stylecraft Life DK) which has a hint of wool mixed in with acrylic.
Oh and I’m delighted to be able to report back that my niece LOVES her bunting!
